List of supporting documents to be submitted by visa applicants in Saudi Arabia

I. Documents to be submitted by all applicants

1. Visa Application Form correctly filled in English and signed.

2. One recent passport-sized colour photograph with a white background, not stapled. Full face; no head or face cover(s) that prevent(s) full visibility of the facial features.

3. Original passport valid for further three months period after the intended departure from the territory of the Schengen States and 1 colour copy of all relevant passport pages (data page, pages containing previous Schengen visas). It shall contain at least two blank pages and have been issued within the previous 10 years.

4. Proof of travel medical insurance covering the entire period of intended stay, valid for all Schengen States and covering any expenses which might arise in connection with repatriation for medical reasons, urgent medical attention, emergency hospital treatment or death during stay. The minimum coverage must be 30.000 Euros. Original and 1 copy thereof. For further details please refer to the Travel Medical Insurance Information document published by the Embassies of the Schengen Member States in Saudi Arabia. 

5. Flight reservation of return or round ticket. If the applicant is travelling to several Schengen States, proof of intra-Schengen flight reservation, train itinerary or car rental.

6. Original bank statement showing movements in the last six months (three months for Saudi Nationals), duly stamped by the bank.

7. Original letter from sponsor/employer in Saudi Arabia, stating employment status, position, length of contract and salary, stamped by the Chamber of Commerce.

If self-employed, copy of original trade license/certificate of registration.
- If retired, proof of pension.

8. Copy of national ID/Iqama. For iqamas, the date of expiry needs to be valid minimum 3 months after the intended departure date from the Schengen area.

8. For minors travelling without their parents/legal guardian: original authorisation signed by their parents/legal guardian and copy of passport(s) of parents/legal guardian, including the page of the signature.

Additionally, for Non-Saudi Nationals:

9. Saudi Arabian re-entry visa valid beyond the intended date of departure from the territory of the Schengen States and 1 copy thereof.

II. Documents to be submitted depending on the travel purpose

1. Business trips:
- invitation from the inviting company or organisation

- cover letter from the applicant's employer

Both letters must confirm, as a minimum:

a) the applicant's identity
b) the purpose of the journey (meetings, conferences, training or business related events) and
c) the period and place of intended stay.

2. Journeys undertaken for the purpose of study, research, or other types of internships:
- certificate of admission or registration at an educational establishment  for the purpose of attending academic or vocational courses, or cover letter from the inviting company

- student cards or certificates of the establishment at which the applicant is enrolled.

3. Journeys undertaken for the purpose of tourism
- certificate of the travel agency confirming the booking of flight tickets, accommodation, and an organised trip or any other appropriate document indicating the travel plans

- marriage certificate, if applicant is married and cannot provide evidence of marital status in the passport or e.g. official family ID.

4. Journeys undertaken for the purpose or visiting family/friends:
- marriage certificate, if applicant is married and cannot provide evidence of marital status in the passport.

- certificate proving the existence of family relationship, if applicant is visiting relatives.
